Your Electric Vehicle Charging Point Considerations

Types of EV Charger

Not only are there different electric vehicle chargers to consider, but before you think about them, you need to know what type of charging point and setup you want.

Most homeowners opt for a slow charging point connected to their home. These types of EV charger can take between 6 to 8 hours to achieve a full car charge, so are best used overnight, particularly on lower electricity billing rates.

This is the most cost-effective long-term solution for EV homeowners wanting to conserve energy, but fast chargers are also an option for homeowners.

Commercial considerations for EV chargers at business premises are similar to homeowners, but for larger fleets a rapid or SuperCharger may be a better choice for regularly used EVs, as a vehicle can be 80% charged in just 20 minutes.
